    Legislative Priorities

In a total of seventy-five (75) words or less, please explain what your two main legislative priorities will be if elected. Please explain how you would obtain any additional government funding needed to implement these priorities.
    - Two of my priorities will be improving education, and increasing healthcare coverage. As a former high school teacher, my perspective has led me to a model for education reform called Parents, Evaluations and Teachers (P.E.T.). This model suggests a three-pronged approach that brings teachers and parents further into the education system. The P.E.T. model de-emphasizes standardized tests, calls for empowerment of teachers, and deeper involvement of parents in their children's educational experience. Until the federal government passes a bill that provides adequate healthcare coverage to all, I will work to provide long-term prescription drug coverage for seniors, and to reduce the market share costs of drugs to all Marylanders.
