Anthony Rendon is a Democratic member of the California State Assembly, representing District 63. He was first elected to the chamber in 2012.

On September 3, 2015, Assembly Democrats voted unanimously to make Assemblyman Rendon Speaker of the Assembly. He assumed the leadership position in January 2016, replacing Toni Atkins.

Rendon served as Assistant Majority Floor Leader from 2012 to 2013.

Rendon earned his B.A. and M.A. at California State University, Fullerton, his Ph.D. at University of California, Riverside and completed his Post Doctoral Work at Boston University. His professional experience includes working as the Executive Director of Plaza de la Raza Child Development Services Inc.
