Ben Carson Credits Trump With Saving His Life After Contracting COVIDNovember 21, 2020
Housing and Urban Development Secretary Dr. Ben Carson believes he is lucky to be alive after contracting COVID-19, and he believes that his boss, President Donald Trump, is responsible for it.
You may recall that Dr. Carson, a brilliant neurosurgeon, announced earlier this month that he had tested positive for the virus days after he attended an Election Night party.

“I really came down with symptoms yesterday. Fever of 101. Chills. Muscle cramps. Respiratory issues and fatigue,” Carson told the Washington Post Nov. 8. Andrew Hughes, Carson’s chief of staff, later wrote in an email to HUD staff that Carson is “resting at his house and is already beginning to feel better.”
However, his improvement did not last, according to him.
In a Facebook post, the retired neurosurgeon said that after initially improving, he took a turn for the worse. But thanks to an authorization by President Trump, he was able to get access to a new treatment that he has credited with literally saving his life.
Thank you everyone for your support and prayers as Candy and I battled COVID-19. I was extremely sick and initially took Oleander 4X with dramatic improvement. However, I have several co-morbidities and after a brief period when I only experienced minor discomfort, the symptoms accelerated and I became desperately ill. President Trump was following my condition and cleared me for the monoclonal antibody therapy that he had previously received, which I am convinced saved my life.
President Trump, the fabulous White House medical team, and the phenomenal doctors at Walter Reed have been paying very close attention to my health and I do believe I am out of the woods at this point. I am hopeful that we can stop playing politics with medicine and instead combine our efforts and goodwill for the good of all people. While I am blessed to have the best medical care in the world (and I am convinced it saved my life), we must prioritize getting comparable treatments and care to everyone as soon as possible.
There are a number of promising treatments that need to be tested, approved, and distributed (sooner rather than later) so that the economy can be re-opened and we can all return to a semblance of normalcy. Also, people should recognize that there are a number of defined steps that legally have to be taken before vaccines are released to the public and trying to cause alarm by saying dangerous shortcuts were taken only serves to stoke fear. Together we will be victorious. God is still in charge.
During his interview with the Post, Carson acknowledged that taking precautions like wearing a mask and socially distancing are good to do. But he also said treatments are what will get us through this pandemic while also noting that Americans are freedom-loving people who deserve to make their own decisions about risk-taking.

“I think you have seen an increase in mask-wearing at those ceremonies,” Carson said. “You see a lot more masks now. People are becoming convinced that masking is good. But I’m much more concerned with therapeutics. Let’s get this thing under control. Let’s not let it control us.”
Well said, Dr. Carson. And get well soon.
