National Security

1. Should the U.S use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the United States from possessing a nuclear weapon?
- No

2. We should use our Constitution, which suggests Marque and Reprisal. Putting price tags on known leaders of the terrorists will give us a much better weapon against terrorists. We should not attack anyone unless we are attacked. We obviously need to be able to detect nuclear weapons, and create something like an Iron Dome, a missile defense system.
- "Why is the British problem now our Problem? After World War II the Empirical systems of the world were ended. However, the role of policing the world, monitoring the world, diplomatic intervention around the world and military intervention around the world did not end. Empires did not end and the empire was simply passed down to us. We still claim all these international powers as our rightful place in the world. I say no! This is not our American tradition and it is not our place to be the policeman of the world." http://votesmart.org/public-statement/1122944/the-solution-is-to-leave-the-middle-east (votesmart.org)

- The Federal Government is just in charge of defending the States. Get out of NATO and the UN. Welfare should be maintained, while the market is freed up and adjusting. Welfare for the poor and elderly is the last thing to be given back to the States.
