By 2-1 Margin, Americans in 'Riot Zones' Back Trump and Most Say Unrest Changed Their Vote
September 16, 2020Our gut feeling has told us all summer long that Americans were getting their belly full of perpetual protests, rioting, violence, and unrest, and it appears as though our instincts (and yours) were right.
By a nearly two-to-one margin, voters in so-called “riot zones” are fed up with them and are fully supportive of President Donald Trump and his message of “law and order.”
In fact, according to a new Rasmussen Reports survey, 63 percent of voters who have witnessed violent protests in their towns and cities “strongly approve” of the president, while only 35 percent do not (and you’d have to ask yourself why one-in-three people dislike Trump so much they approve of thugs burning and looting their communities).

As reported by the Washington Examiner:
The survey is the latest showing Trump winning the “law and order vote” as the country sees violence from the protests expand from big cities to smaller communities, such as Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Trump’s position is not only winning fans but may also be helping his overall approval rating. Rasmussen, for example, also said that Trump’s approval rating is 51% for a second day. At this stage of his presidency and reelection campaign, former President Barack Obama had a 49% approval rating.
The law and order vote is a big one. Rasmussen said that 42% of likely voters said that their communities have hosted the anti-police protests in their communities. And nearly half said those protests turned violent, making them a big issue, even to those who haven’t witnessed the violence.
"Among all voters, 65% say the violent protests are important to their vote in the presidential election this fall, with 41% who say it’s ‘Very Important,'" Rasmussen noted.
“Among those who have had violent protests in their community, even more (76%) rate them important to their vote, including 54% who say they are ‘Very Important.’ Sixty-three percent (63%) of these voters ‘Strongly Approve’ of the job Trump is doing versus 35% who ‘Strongly Disapprove.’”
Meanwhile, as American corporations and professional sports leagues fall all over themselves to fund and virtue signal to the Marxist “Black Lives Matter” movement, a new analysis has found a staggering 95 percent of the hundreds of riots that have taken place over the summer were linked to BLM.
"Of the 633 incidents coded as riots, 88 percent are recorded as involving Black Lives Matter activists. Data for 51 incidents lack information about the perpetrators’ identities. BLM activists were involved in 95 percent of the riots for which there is information about the perpetrators’ affiliation," said the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED).

Oh, and all of this violence and unrest have been expensive, too.
"Early estimates from insurance agencies say the cost of this summer’s rioting will set a record surpassing that of the 1992 Rodney King riots, which cost an inflation-adjusted $1.2 billion," the ACLED said.
"Much of that will be paid by taxpayers in the form of overtime and hazard pay for police and EMTs, emergency room visits, destruction of public property, and more. Of course, rioters are inflicting these costs during a time governments, and the people who fund them, have fewer resources due to coronavirus shutdowns and pent-up entitlement obligations," the organization added.
If Democrats still believe that unleashing riots on our cities will ‘scare’ Americans into supporting Joe Biden over President Trump, that’s proven to be a losing strategy.
