Chapin Rose is a Republican member of the Illinois State Senate, representing District 51. Rose was first elected to the chamber in 2012. Rose is running for re-election in 2018. The primary election took place on March 20, 2018. The general election is being held on November 6, 2018.

Rose served as Senate minority whip from 2015 to 2016. He served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2003 to 2013.

Rose was a district-level delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention from Illinois. Rose was one of nine delegates from Illinois bound by state party rules to support Ted Cruz at the convention. Cruz suspended his campaign on May 3, 2016. Rose earned a B.A. and J.D. from the University of Illinois. He was a senior assistant state’s attorney for Champaign County.
