Legislative Priorities

In the following area, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- My top priority is reforming our criminal justice system to reverse the trend of becoming the fastest growing prison system in the country. My next priority is bolstering our public education system, not undercutting it by encouraging the emergence of charter schools. Also, I would end any back avenues that our state government has used to send public funds to private religious schools. Public education is vital to promoting intersectional equality among different races and economic classes. My next priority is protecting those who receive Medicaid and ensuring that those in need will have that security.
