Policy Positions

Tennessee Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Abortion

1. Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
- Pro-life

2. Other or expanded principles
- No Answer

Budget

1. In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
- No

2. In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
- Yes

3. Other or expanded principles
- In the current omnibus 2018 Spending Bill, they(Congress) actually provided more spending for defense than was requested by the Pentagon because of special interest influence. Every department needs to reduce expenses and certainly Congress should not be allocating more money than was even requested.

Campaign Finance

1. Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
- Yes

2. Other or expanded principles
- I believe there should be limits on contributions to politicians. Term limits for politicians and laws preventing politicians from working as lobbyists once they leave office, would help limit the influence from special interest groups.

Economy

1. Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
- No

2. Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
- Yes

3. Other or expanded principles
- No Answer

Education

1. Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
- No

2. Other or expanded principles
- Centralizing power in Washington and taking it away from the states, was not the original intent of the founders of our country. This is a prime example of why special interest money has so much influence. When all the power and control is held by a few hundred people in Washington DC, then money, power, inefficiency and corruption always follows.

Energy & Environment

1. Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
- No

2. Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
- No

3. Other or expanded principles
- No Answer

Guns

1. Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
- No

2. Other or expanded principles
- No Answer

Health Care

1. Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
- Yes

2. Other or expanded principles
- Obamacare is already collapsing, which was the original intent. It is not affordable, the costs for most people have skyrocketed.

Immigration

1. Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
- Yes

2. Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
- Yes

3. Other or expanded principles
- While I agree there are many immigrants here that are good hard working people, they should not get automatic amnesty. The first immigrants that should be deported automatically are any that have committed any crimes in the U.S, including illegal voting, and identity theft.

Marijuana

1. Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
- No

2. Other or expanded principles
- I would support legalization for chronic and terminal patients for medical treatments in controlled situations.

National Security

1. Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
- No

2. Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
- No

3. Other or expanded principles
- No Answer

Administrative Priorities

Please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- My top priority is reducing government spending and reducing the National Debt which is over 21 trillion dollars and projected to rise to 33 trillion by 2028. This is irresponsible and immoral generational theft. Now is the time to be reducing the debt, while the economy is doing well. The high debt is a threat to the economy, our national security and to the next generation that will have to deal with it if we don't.The first place to cut is funding to foreign programs and governments. This reduction should include defense spending benefiting other countries.
