Policy Positions

Montana State Legislative Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Abortion & Reproductive

1. Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
- Pro-life

2. Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
- No

3. Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?
- Yes

4. Other or expanded principles
- Abortion is homicide -- the killing of one person by another. There is never a right to kill an innocent person. Prenatally, we are all innocent persons. A prenatal child has the right to be in the mother's body. Parents have no right to evict their children from the crib or from the womb and let them die. Instead both parents, the father as well as the mother, owe them support and protection from harm. No government, nor any individual, has a just power to legally "de-person" any one of us, born or preborn.

Budget, Spending, & Tax

Budget Stabilization:

Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing Montana's budget.

1. Reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions?
- Yes

2. Instituting mandatory furloughs AND/OR layoffs for state employees?
- Yes

3. Reducing benefits for Medicaid recipients?
- Yes

4. An income tax increase on any tax bracket?
- No

5. Eliminating block grants to public school districts?
- Yes

6. Decreasing funding to the Montana Department of Health and Human Services?
- Yes

7. Other or expanded principles
- State employment should be streamlined as much as possible in order to reduce the size of state budgetary needs, thus reducing the tax burden put on taxpayers. State interference in what should be charity work has greatly diminished the role of civil societies to the detriment of our communities. The state paying for education in our communities takes responsibility and stewardship away from parents and turns a local concern into a state or even federal funding came will too many strings attached. Taxes? Taxation is theft, a reduced percentage slavery.

Campaign Finance & Government Reform

1. Do you support any limits on campaign contributions to state candidates?
- No

2. Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
- No

3. Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting?
- Yes

4. Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
- Yes

5. Other or expanded principles
- The only way to truly get money out of politics is to eliminate the government having arbitrary control over what is bought and sold. When the government controls what can be bought and sold, the first thing bought is the government.Voter I.D.: The only thing racist about Voter ID laws is thinking Minorities somehow don't know how to get a government issued ID.

Crime & Public Safety

1. Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
- No

2. Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
- Yes

3. Should a minor accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult?
- Yes

4. Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
- Yes

5. Other or expanded principles
- Capital punishment: one innocent killed is absolutely unacceptable and an injustice which cannot be undone.Cannabis: legalizing cannabis is the best and most effectual way to take out drug cartels.Minor prosecution: this should only be used extremely sparingly. The wording of the law would have to be very specific and restrictive of its use.

Economic

1. Do you support state government spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
- No

2. Do you support lowering state taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
- Yes

3. Do you support reducing state government regulations on the private sector?
- Yes

4. Do you support expanding access to unemployment benefits?
- No

5. Do you support requiring welfare applicants to pass a drug test in order to receive benefits?
- No

6. Do you support an increase of the minimum wage of Montana?
- No

7. Other or expanded principles
- Government Spending: Stimulus money is artificial and will not have the effect of organic economic growth. The market should decide who's rewarded economically, not the government.Taxes: Taxation is theft.Regulations: Regulations only benefit already established businesses and act as a market barrier to new competition.Drug tests: Costs more money than it's worth. Reform or eliminate welfare.Minimum Wage hurts those it portends to help. The young and under skilled are priced out of new opportunities.

Education

1. Do you support adopting federal education standards in Montana?
- No

2. Do you support state funding for charter schools?
- No

3. Should immigrants unlawfully present in the United States who graduate from Montana high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
- No

4. Other or expanded principles
- Eliminate government schools. Allowing for communities to accommodate their own educational needs will build stronger communities and offer a better pool of examples for other communities to experiment with. Government schools, teach government just like religious schools teach religion or engineering schools teach engineering. Letting the government educate your children will interfere with their learning.

Environment & Energy

1. Do you support state funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
- No

2. Do you support state government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions?
- No

3. Do you support increasing state funding for clean drinking water initiatives?
- No

4. Other or expanded principles
- Expanding property rights will do more to protect natural resources than anything else we can do in government. Returning pollution to being a crime against individuals instead of a crime against the state will be a much stronger reason for everyone to act responsibly.

Gun

1. Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
- No

2. Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
- No

3. Should teachers be allowed to bring guns into the classroom?
- Yes

4. Should a license be required for gun ownership?
- No

5. Other or expanded principles
- Every gun law is an infringement of the right to bear arms. Free human beings keep and bear arms. Throughout history, the only class denied the use of arms Have been slaves. Repeal all gun laws. The only people who have any legitimate concern in the buying and selling of a gun are the parties selling them and the parties buying them.

Health

1. Should the state government increase funding for treatment facilities to combat opioid abuse?
- No

2. Do you support Medicaid expansion through Montana's health care programs?
- No

3. Do you support requiring individuals to purchase health care insurance?
- No

4. Do you support legislation that grants citizens the right to choose to die through euthanasia?
- No

5. Do you support eliminating religious exemptions for vaccinations?
- No

6. Do you support increasing state funding for tracking and reporting opioid usage and overdoses?
- No

7. Other or expanded principles
- Government should not have anything to do with health care. Your health is too important to trust to the government.

Social

1. Do you support the inclusion of sexual orientation in Montana's anti-discrimination laws?
- No

2. Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Montana's anti-discrimination laws?
- No

3. Do you support greater efforts by Montana state government in closing the pay gap between men and women?
- No

4. Should individuals be required to use a bathroom that corresponds with the gender listed on their birth certificate?
- No

5. Other or expanded principles
- Government should not interfere in social issues. Using force of government to impose your view of morality on your fellow human beings is wrong. The "Gender Pay Gap" has been shown to be a result of the individual choices men and women make in terms of career path and employment. Also, it's been illegal since 1963, new laws won't change it. Keep the government out of your bathroom. Only actual violations of the equal rights of other human beings are crimes and those should be the only time government should become involved in your live.

Legislative Priorities

In the following area, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- Lowering and eliminating as many taxes as possible. Eliminating as many government programs as possible. Basically, holding the government to the limits set by the people in the constitution and within the bounds of natural rights. Eliminating laws barring the use of any and all arms and the elimination of laws where in the state or "society" is considered the victim, so called "victim-less crimes."
