Jones was appointed to the Maryland House of Delegates by Gov. Larry Hogan on April 23, 2020, following the resignation of Alice Cain. She was sworn into office on May 1, 2020.
Jones is from Allegany County, Maryland, and spent 22 years working on Democratic political campaigns prior to joining the state legislature. In addition to her campaign work, Jones' professional experience includes working as a legislative aide to U.S. Senator Ben Cardin and as the research director of Emily's List. Jones also served as the Communications Vice President of the Junior League of Annapolis, a women's voluntarism nonprofit, at the time of her appointment. She holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Towson University.
