David McRae (Republican) is a candidate for Mississippi Treasurer. McRae is running in the primary on August 6, 2019. The general election is November 5, 2019.
McRae is a fourth-generation Mississippian and graduate of the Mississippi College School of Law. A licensed attorney, McRae manages his family business, McRae Investments, alongside his father, Richard McRae. He is active in civic and charity organizations throughout the community and statewide. Such work includes his efforts to expand the presence of the Metro Capital Area Habitat for Humanity and his time serving as liaison with the Mississippi Museum of Art to fund the McRae Children's Fountains.
While studying for his law degree, McRae was Chief Justice of the Honor Court and worked for Justice Jess Dickinson at the Mississippi Supreme Court. McRae previously attended Jackson Preparatory School and earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
