Abortion & Reproductive

1. Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
- No Answer

2. Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
- No Answer

3. Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?
- Yes

4. Other or expanded principles
- I believe that government does not have a role in reproductive decisions. I think that abortions should not be paid for with public funds. Other health services should not be affected.

Budget, Spending, & Tax

Budget Stabilization:

Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing Tennessee's budget.

1. Reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions?
- No

2. Instituting mandatory furloughs AND/OR layoffs for state employees?
- No

3. Reducing benefits for Medicaid recipients?
- No

4. Other or expanded principles
- I support Medicaid expansion. 250,000 Tennessee citizens could benefit while the state takes advantage of federal funds which are being diverted to other states.

1. Do you support any limits on campaign contributions to state candidates?
- Yes

2. Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
- Yes

3. Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting?
- Yes

4. Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
- Yes

5. Other or expanded principles
- Campaign finance reform is critical. We need to remove huge PAC contributions.

Crime & Public Safety

4. Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
- No

5. Other or expanded principles
- My answer to these is ?that depends?. Certain violent crimes committed by a minor might well be decided in the adult system. Judges make that decision based on a number of factors. I support the legalization of medical marijuana.

Legislative Priorities

In the following area, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- Medicaid expansion is my top priority. Too many low income workers are without health care. Medicaid expansion increases the availability of care to many citizens. Medicaid expansion also will help address hospital closures. It is necessary for many victims to receive treatment for opioid addiction. While the unemployment rate is lower than it had been for a while Tennessee has a high percentage of minimum wage and low wage workers. I would work to move workers to a living wage. Finally I will work towards supporting our schools and our teachers. Less testing, more teaching.
