Djuna's campaign website highlights the following issues:

Investing in infrastructure projects that modernize and repair our current roads, bridges, and broadband networks provides jobs, grows the economy, and improves quality of life for all Virginians. Djuna supports Reimagine 419, an effort to improve transportation and expand economic development opportunities by revitalizing current retail areas and employing mixed-use development strategies.

We have a moral and fiscal responsibility to ensure that every child has access to a quality education. We must support our students by recruiting, training, and retaining teachers by paying them a wage that is at a minimum consistent with the national average. Djuna will fight for funding for our area's public schools to assure that our students are well-prepared to enter college or the workforce. Djuna supports raising the wage for our hardworking teachers, who currently make less than the national average.

As a lover of the outdoors, Djuna will work to protect the amenities that make the 17th District attractive to business and to individuals who want to settle in our area. This includes preserving our greenways, supporting land conservation, and supporting energy innovations that will power Virginia's economy.

Recent company moves to the Roanoke area, like Deschutes and Ballast Point, show that the Roanoke Valley is an attractive area for businesses and their employees. In Richmond, Djuna will push to expand our area's broadband initiatives in order to draw industry to the Roanoke Valley and will cultivate a supportive environment for large and small businesses.

Djuna will make access to quality and affordable healthcare a priority, and supports expanding Medicaid in Virginia under the Affordable Care Act. As a clinical social worker, Djuna knows the importance of access to mental healthcare, and will work across the aisle to find innovative ways to combat the growing opioid epidemic in the Roanoke Valley and across the commonwealth.
