D
Policy Positions

Abortion & Reproductive Issues:

Pro-choice a) Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes b) Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
Yes c) Should abortion be legal when the life of the woman is endangered?
Yes d) Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?

Budget, Spending, & Tax Issues:

1) Budget Stabilization:

Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing New Jersey's budget.

No a) Reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions
No b) Instituting mandatory furloughs AND/OR layoffs for state employees
No c) Reducing benefits for Medicaid recipients
No d) An income tax increase on any tax bracket
e) Other or expanded principles:
This year, New Jersey's government shut down completely due to failure on both sides to reach an agreement on the state's budget. A government is useless if it isn't open, but if we begin stripping benefits from employees and residents simply for short-term gains, then we are no better off. We can afford the basic necessities if we end our frivolous spending on outlandish projects, focusing instead on the healthcare, education, housing, and community development.

Campaign Finance & Government Reform Issues:

a) Do you support limits on the following types of contributions for state candidates?

No 1) Individual
Yes 2) Political Action Committee

No e) Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
f) Other or expanded principles:
Voting is essential to our democracy, and one of the exclusive privileges we enjoy, even if it feels like a burden at times. I support the state of New Jersey doing everything we can legislatively to ensure the most voices are heard throughout our state. I support a redistricting solution that is a fairer representation of ALL residents of this great state and I also believe that anyone running for office - from town council all the way up to President of the United States - should be required to publish full disclosure of their campaign finance information.

Crime & Public Safety Issues:

No a) Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
Yes b) Do you support alternatives to incarceration for certain non-violent offenders, such as mandatory counseling or substance abuse treatment?
Yes c) Do you support legalizing the possession of small amounts of marijuana?

i) Other or expanded principles:

Education Issues:

No a) Do you support the national Common Core State Standards initiative?
No b) Do you support state funding for charter schools?
No c) Should immigrants unlawfully present in the United States who graduate from New Jersey high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities in New Jersey?
d) Other or expanded principles:
Ensuring a proper education for all students of District 30 and across the state of New Jersey is at the core of my campaign. Education is, I believe, the most important fundamental right for our residents. And that proper education could come from a number of places! It doesn't just have to come from public school - but I will fight to ensure the schools across my district receive the funding they need to provide the best education possible to our blossoming students.

Environment & Energy Issues:

Yes a) Do you support state funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
Yes b) Do you support state funding for open space preservation?
Yes c) Do you support government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions?
d) Other or expanded principles:
I see no reason to doubt the decades of work from governments and private businesses/organizations all around the world who have come to the consensus that climate change is real and human beings are speeding up the natural process. Reducing our carbon footprint, banning offshore drilling, and keeping our beaches and waterways clean and vibrant will not only keep our state beautiful, but keep our residents healthy and happy - human and non-human!

d) Other or expanded principles:

Legislative Priorities:

In the following area, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
My top priorities should I be elected to the General Assembly are; ensuring a proper education for all students in my district and across the state and giving schools the funding necessary to provide those students access to more than just the core classes, as students exposed to the Arts and Humanities are substantially more well-rounded than those who are not; property tax reform that slows the rate of increase and provides a fairer taxation to residents of all classes; and protecting our beaches and waterways from harmful chemicals and drilling, allowing the natural beauty of our state to flourish.
