Elizabeth Steiner Hayward (b. December 10, 1956) is a Democratic member of the Oregon State Senate, representing District 17. Steiner Hayward was first appointed to the chamber on January 5, 2012, to replace Senator Suzanne Bonamici, who resigned on November 21, 2011. She currently serves as majority whip. Steiner Hayward is running for re-election in the primary on May 15, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.

Steiner Hayward previously served as assistant majority leader from 2013 to 2015. She was appointed by a vote of the local county commissioners, narrowly edging out Rep. Chris Harker for the seat.

Steiner-Hayward earned her B.A. in Religion in the Humanities from the University of Chicago in 1985 and her M.D. from the University of Massachusetts in 1991. Her professional experience includes being the Direction of the Breast Health Education Program at the Oregon Health & Science University Cancer Institute, working as an Associate Professor at the Oregon Health & Science University and as a Reviewer for the Annals of Family Medicine.
