"[S]ometimes I get angry, I want to bust some heads, too," Terrence Floyd said. "I wanna ... just go crazy. But I’m here. My brother wasn’t about that. My brother was about peace. You’ll hear a lot of people say he was a gentle giant."
"He was about peace, he was about unity," he said. "But the thing's that's transpiring now, yeah they may call it unity, but it's destructive unity. That's not what my brother was about."
"He would motivate you to channel — if you're angry it's okay to be angry — but channel your anger to do something positive or make a change another way," Terrence Floyd continued. "We've been down this road already. He would want to seek justice the way we are, the way we're trying to do. But channel it another way. The anger, damaging your hometown, it's not the way he'd want."
"When you spoke to him, he always wanted to motivate you no matter what you were going through," he said. "He always saw the light and the brightest side of things. He made you feel like you could just do anything, even if you're going through something. That's just how he spoke to you. He just really helped me. He was a motivator, that's how I could just sum it up, he was a peaceful motivator."

The comments by Terrence Floyd were very similar to those of Floyd's girlfriend who recently said he would be "devastated" to see his city on fire.
“I am heartbroken,” Floyd's girlfriend Courtney Ross said about the chaos. “Waking up this morning to see Minneapolis on fire would be something that would devastate Floyd. He loves the city. He came here [from Houston] and stayed here for the people and the opportunities… Floyd was a gentle giant. He was about love and peace.”
Ross also noted how she wants those who protest “to know that I understand their frustration…I want people to protest in a peaceful way.”
