American response in Syria

Thompson did not support President Barack Obama's proposed military strikes against Syria. On September 4, 2013, he stated, "At this point, I don’t see a compelling case for the United States to be going to war here with Syria. I don’t just see the national interests under the War Powers (Act) are satisfied to allow that to happen.”

Electoral vote certification on January 6-7, 2021

Jan. 1, 1900

Congress convened a joint session on January 6-7, 2021, to count electoral votes by state and confirm the results of the 2020 presidential election. Thompson voted against certifying the electoral votes from Pennsylvania. The House rejected the objection by a vote of 138-282.
