Legislative Priorities

In the following area, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- Three priorities for me would be; alleviating the housing crisis, Paid Family Medical Leave, and increasing Educational Funding. For housing I would start by balancing the landlord tenant relationship to increase willingness to long term rent. I would then incentivize longterm renting by reducing property tax for registered long term rental properties. Conversely I would increase property taxes on registered short term rental properties to help maintain our property tax revenue. Paid Family Medical Leave would be an employee paid system, so it is self funding. I would earmark the revenue from legalized marijuana to be put into educational funding.
