Issue Position: Deliver for Our Farmers and Agribusinesses

Jan. 1, 2016

I will stand strong for our farmers in Atlanta. I'm a farmer, and I understand that without agriculture, our farmers and agri-businesses, our community would dry up as would the state. It's a shame that government tries to see how tough they can make it for our farmers and agribusinesses to do business in Georgia. We need to work with our farmers and agribusinesses to help them expand and create new, innovative agriculture projects that will help spur the economy. I will deliver for agriculture and our farmers in Atlanta. You have my word.

Issue Position: Budget Reform & Lower Taxes

Jan. 1, 2016

Now is the time to figure out what the state government is constitutionally mandated to provide--education, public safety and infrastructure. We need to take a hard look at the value of every other government program and ask if it is needed. If it's not, we need to cut it. * Ensure government operates just like our businesses and families. * Advocate for more audits and efficiency studies at every level of state government--making sure that our money is spent wisely and effectively and to enable us to cut unnecessary spending. * Streamline government and reduce spending through innovation and finding new ways to use technology as opposed to hiring more employees. * Cut wasteful spending to keep taxes low. * Reform the Georgia tax code.

Issue Position: Improving Our Children's Education

Jan. 1, 2016

There is nothing more important to economic development than education and world-class schools. We must insure that every child, regardless of social standing or background, receives a world-class education. I will be the leader who will deliver for our schools, students and teachers. * The state should set high standards and empower local systems to achieve these standards through extra funding and less bureaucratic paperwork. * Work to bring necessary education funding back home for our schools. * Ensure that a majority of vital funding resources goes directly to teachers and students in the classroom--not any high-priced education "consultants' that don't work solely for the benefit of educating the child. * Hold local systems accountable through testing, but leave the details of implementation to the local systems. * No one size fits all mandates from the state.
