Jessica K. Unruh is a Republican member of the North Dakota State Senate, representing District 33. She was first appointed to the chamber on November 28, 2012, to replace Randel Christmann (R), who resigned when he was elected to the North Dakota Public Service Commission.
Unruh was an at-large delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention from North Dakota. All North Dakota delegates were unpledged. Unruh, however, was one of 18 North Dakota delegates on a list of preferred delegates circulated by Ted Cruz's campaign prior to the North Dakota State Convention in April 2016. Cruz suspended his campaign on May 3, 2016. At the time, he had approximately 546 bound delegates. For more on what happened to his delegates, see this page.
Unruh earned her B.S. in Natural Resources Management and Economics from North Dakota State University. Her professional experience includes working as an environmental specialist for Coteau Properties Company Freedom Mine.
