Reason for Seeking Public Office:

One of my all-time favorite Ronald Reagan quotes is this:

"Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same."

And that's exactly why I'm running for the state Assembly.

Because I see our freedom and liberty eroded on a daily basis.

Because I believe we are at a tipping point.

Because if the path we are on does not change, and quickly, it will be too late to save our nation and our state.

Because if we don't fight for our freedoms, there won't be any left to pass on to our children…or their children.

And that fight in Assembly District 31 begins with defeating Assemblyman Skip Daly.

Are you tired of the same old politicians who say all kinds of things when campaigning, only to vote the opposite once elected? Are you tired of politicians who speak a lot of words without having said anything? Politicians who won't take a stand on anything? Are you tired of the special interest career politicians who pursue personal gratification as an end to itself? I know I am. Our citizen legislature has been taken over by career politicians who put themselves ahead of their constituents.

As a life-long conservative Republican, I believe in, and will fight for the traditional Republican principles of lower taxes, smaller/less intrusive/limited government and more personal freedom and responsibility for all of us.

As a small business owner, I know first-hand the detrimental effects of ever-growing taxes and fees. With each successive session, we see the legislature become more and more hostile to business. We are constantly seeing laws passed that stifle job growth and investment. Here in Nevada, we still have the highest unemployment rate in the nation and one of the highest foreclosure rates. Until we attract new businesses and new jobs, this will not change, and Nevada's economy will never recover. Government jobs created through increased taxation do not improve the economy. They simply take money from you and me to pay people to work for the government. I will work hard to grow Nevada's private sector and make sure all Nevadans keep more of their hard-earned paychecks.

Business is grossly underrepresented in our legislature. There are far too many public sector employees making laws when they have no idea what it takes to meet a payroll, generate enough revenue to pay the bills or to make enough profit to meet tax obligations. And, with the Margins Tax looming, businesses will be taxed before any profit is realized. All these people seem to know is how to find new ways to raise our taxes to fund their pet programs. And, what results do we see? Failing schools, a poor business climate, high unemployment, unacceptable numbers of our citizens depending on food stamps and welfare.

I strongly support our Second Amendment as written and interpreted, that is, our individual right to keep and bear arms. You can count on me to vote against all bills that would infringe on that right.

We need more common sense, principled conservative citizens in the legislature if we are going to make a difference.
