Other Info

— Awards:

  • I am board certified in Animal Reproduction (Theriogenology). As a person may be operated on by a Board Certified Surgeon, the College of Theriogenologists conferred upon me the Diplomate status in 1986. There are about 400 of us in the world.

I have devoted the last 35 years to strictly bovine practice. I have specialized in Bovine reproduction and have lectured on that subject (especially bull fertility) for several years. In the past three years I've lectured at conventions in Seattle, Baltimore, San Antonio and New Orleans. I've also written two chapters in the Bovine Reproduction textbook.

Hobbies or Special Talents:

I write a weekly column for the Vinita Daily Journal Newspaper. The column is titled: A Grain of Salt. In this column I've commented on life and lives in our area. I have written off and on for 40 years but I've been published weekly for the last five years. I illustrate the column and I enjoy charcoal portraiture and drawing.

I'm a sports fan--especially Oklahoma State University athletics. I'm a baseball fan and pull for the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City and the Washington Nationals (my son lives in Washington, D.C.)

My wife and I both play the piano and play duets together.

I read quite a bit. My wife is originally from Oxford, Mississippi--the home of William Faulkner. I admire him as an author and I report with pride I was able to read The Sound and the Fury, although it had to be his most difficult book. Finally I'm proud to say a just recently finished Don Quixote.
