Laura Fine is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing District 17. She was first elected to the chamber in 2012. Fine is also Democratic candidate for District 9 of the Illinois State Senate. The primary election took place on March 20, 2018. The general election is being held on November 6, 2018.
Laura Fine was born in Glenview, Illinois. She graduated from Glenbrook South High School. Fine earned a B.A. in telecommunications from Indiana University in 1989 and an M.A. in political science from Northeastern Illinois University in 1999. Her professional experience includes serving as clerk of the Northfield Township, as a political science instructor at Northeastern Illinois University, and as a television and radio news producer, reporter, anchor, and writer.
