Lonnie J. Laffen is a Republican member of the North Dakota State Senate, representing District 43. He was first elected to the chamber in 2010.

Laffen earned his B.A. in Architecture from North Dakota State University. His professional experience includes working as the North Dakota State Architect from 2004 to 2008, as chairman of the North Dakota Historic Preservation Review Board and as the operator of JLG Architects since its founding in 1985.
