Personal Details

Mac Schneider (Democrat) was a candidate for North Dakota's At-Large Congressional District in the U.S. House. Schneider lost the general election on November 6, 2018, after advancing from the primary on June 12, 2018.


Schneider is a former Democratic member of the North Dakota State Senate, representing District 42 from 2008 to 2016.

Schneider served as minority leader from 2012 to 2016. Schneider served as assistant minority leader in the 2011-2012 legislative session.

Schneider earned his B.A. in history from the University of North Dakota in 2002 and his J.D. from Georgetown University. His professional experience includes working as a staff member for former U.S. Rep. Early Pomeroy (D) and as a practicing attorney.
