Reason for Seeking Public Office:

I have only been involved in politics as a voter and occasional campaign participant, never imagining that I would ever want to run for office. Following the campaigns and seeing the total lack of regard for the marginalized, I reached my limit after the 2016 election. I waited and waited for Someone to do Something. I posted angrily to social media and even tried to pick a country to move to. Feeling the need to speak out, I attended the women's march in Little Rock in January of 2017. I was surrounded by nearly 7000 people who were feeling the same sense of disquiet and desire to make a difference as I was feeling. It was at that moment that I realized that *I am Someone and *I can do Something. I'm working to bring the voice of the people back to the capitol. Our current elected officials have repeatedly chosen to disregard or even attack constituents rather than do their job of representing us. After asking the people of the district what is important to them, affordable healthcare, debt free education and improving our economy through increased wages and opportunity were the main themes that came up. I plan to use my voice to make their voices heard.
