Policy Positions

Maine State Legislative Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Abortion & Reproductive

1. Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
- Pro-life

2. Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
- Yes

3. Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?
- Yes

4. Other or expanded principles
- Abortion resulting from incest, rape needs to have strict rules of time limitations for abortion to be legal. I do not support abortion as a procedure to be used for birth control. This is why I stated I do not believe public funds should be used for abortions. For endangered situations for the life of the mother or in case of rape or incest it should be able to use public funds.

- Salaries, pensions are not the only issue, the issue is hiring new employees and its drawbacks. New employees hired start at from the lowest pay scale not taking in their education or experience. Only State workers with longevity receive higher payrates. New potential employees' talents or education are not considered when hired. That is why many talented individuals do not apply for these positions.
