Studies show that sustainable economic growth when it is based on the economy working for the vast majority of our people and fairness. We must address income inequality and look for improved means to ensure our people have the opportunity to reach their potential.

Performance of students is related to numerous social factors, many of which are out of the control of teachers. However, I absolutely believe student IMPROVEMENT should a major factor in teacher pay.

- I support gun ownership, and do not support seizing guns. We should control bump stocks, the number of rounds in magazines, and revamp our background checks to put them under local control. If a school district decides to arm trained and qualified teachers who WANT to be armed, that should be allowed. Our focus, however, needs to be on preventing weapons from getting into our schools. Unobtrusive metal detectors, single entry, improved mental health support for students, and measures to ensure students are engaged must be considered.
