Pro-Biden super PAC to spend $900,000 before New Hampshire primary

DES MOINES, Iowa — A pro-Joe Biden super PAC plans to spend $900,000 in ads to boost the former vice president in New Hampshire with just a week left before the state’s primary.
It’s a big investment in the closing days of the race in a state where Bernie Sanders is expected to dominate.
The treasurer for the Unite the Country PAC, Larry Rasky, told POLITICO that he viewed the preliminary results out of Iowa a muddle — calling it the right moment to boost Biden, to separate him from two other moderates still very much in the game: Amy Klobuchar and Pete Buttigieg.
“What is undeniable is there’s going to be one standard-bearer for each wing of the party,” Rasky. “This is going to start reshape who that is.”
The coming expenditure follows preliminary reports that Biden did not fare well in Iowa, but a technical glitch that delayed release of the results may have thrown a lifeline to Biden, allowing him to move on to New Hampshire without a dark cloud hanging over his campaign. The Iowa Democratic Party is to release partial results later Tuesday.
“New Hampshire is a good state for us. We have a lot of good endorsements,” Rasky said. “We can at the very least finish a strong second.”
