Rich Wingo is a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing District 62. He was first elected to the chamber in 2014. Wingo is running for re-election in the primary on June 5, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.
Wingo was a district-level delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention from Alabama. He was one of 13 delegates from Alabama bound by state party rules to support Ted Cruz at the convention. Wingo played in the National Football League as a linebacker for the Green Bay Packers from 1979 to 1984. He played the same position at the University of Alabama, contributing to its national championship win in the 1978 season. His professional experience includes working as a business owner.
