Robert "Rob" Hogg (b. January 24, 1967) is a Democratic member of the Iowa State Senate, representing District 33. He was first elected to the chamber in 2006. Hogg served as state Senate minority leader during Iowa's 2017 legislative session. He was replaced by Janet Petersen on October 22, 2017.
Hogg previously served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2002 to 2006.
Hogg was a 2016 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. Senate from Iowa. Hogg was defeated by Patty Judge in the Democratic primary.
Hogg earned his B.A. from the University of Iowa in 1988 and his M.A. and J.D. from the University of Minnesota. His professional experience includes working as an attorney for Elderkin & Pirnie.
