Sam Britton (Republican) was a candidate for Mississippi Secretary of State. Britton lost the primary on August 6, 2019.
Britton is a Republican Mississippi Public Service Commissioner, representing the Southern District. He was elected in the 2015 elections.
Britton grew up in Waynesboro, Mississippi. He attended Jones County Junior College before graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor's degree in business. After becoming a certified public accountant, Britton started his own accounting firm.
In his combined three-decade career in the Mississippi finance and accounting business, Britton has held positions within the offices of the state auditor and state tax commission. Britton was named as one of the Mississippi Business Journal's Mississippi Leaders in Finance for 2014.
