Hobbies or Special Talents:
Running, motorcycles, aviation, fishing, and hunting.
Priority Issues:
West Virginia needs to invest in infrastructure, development of flat land, and workforce development to attract industry and economic growth, not reduce the income of our workers. I hope my experience in labor management and economic development across the state will allow me to work together with other members of the legislature and potential business leaders to attract the good jobs West Virginia needs.
Reason for Seeking Public Office:
My decision to seek office is based on several factors. Having been active during the legislative session for the past 15 years, the past 2 years have been especially troubling, and definitely the most divisive in my memory. I've seen all out attacks on workers, their wages, health benefits, pension benefits, and safety. Mineral rights, our public schools and teachers, and minorities are being threatened. All of this while our roads and bridges are deteriorating, we're facing an epidemic of drug abuse, and numerous other major issues that need to be addressed.
