The House Sergeant at Arms and Capitol Police will increase security for members of Congress traveling by air to and from the Jan. 20 presidential inauguration, according to an internal alert sent out Saturday and obtained by Axios.

The memo states the police and the Sergeant at Arms will partner with the United States Air Marshals and the Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority “to increase security for Members of Congress while traveling to and from Washington D.C." according to the publication.

It also asked members and staff to "remain vigilant of their surroundings and immediately report anything unusual or suspicious."

The memo follows viral clips of supporters of President Trump heckling both Sens. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) Tuesday at Salt Lake City International Airport and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Friday, two days after five people died after a riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The alert also comes a day after the Federal Aviation Administration announced it will "pursue strong enforcement action against anyone who endangers the safety of a flight. House Homeland Security Committee Chair Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) has also called for participants in the unrest to be added to the federal no-fly list.

“This should include all individuals identified as having entered the Capitol building — an intrusion which threatened the safety of Members of Congress and staff and served as an attack on our Nation," Thompson said in a statement Thursday. "Alleged perpetrators of a domestic terrorist attack who have been identified by the FBI should be held accountable.”
