Embezzlement charges

Jan. 1, 1900

Cullerton was indicted on 40 counts of embezzlement charges on August 2, 2019. According to the U.S. attorney's office, he was charged with "one count of conspiracy to embezzle from a labor union and employee benefit plans, 39 counts of embezzlement from a labor union and one count of making false statements in a health care matter." Cullerton pleaded not guilty on August 16, 2019. Judge Robert Gettleman set Cullerton's trial before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois to begin on February 23, 2022.
