    Legislative Priorities

In the following area, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
    - Affordability, like many other communities is the most pressing issue facing my district. This includes rising costs such as utilities and for many, their largest monthly expense, housing. The biggest issue with affordable housing is the land for housing and secondarily, resources. What is needed now, especially in Maui County, is an identification of where additional affordable housing should be built. We must also create legislation to regulate illegal short-term rentals, including entities such as Air BnB. Securing funding to improve public facilities in my district is also a priority, most notably our schools.
