Brewer is the former mayor of Wichita, Kansas. He was first elected in 2007 and was re-elected in 2011. Before becoming mayor, he served on the Wichita City Council from 2001 to 2007, representing District 1.
Brewer served in the United States Army and the Kansas Army National Guard. For his service, he received an Army Commendation Medal and a Kansas Army National Guard Recognition Award. His professional experience includes working as an operations manager at Boeing/Spirit and as a manufacture engineer at Cessna.
