Petition challenges

Jan. 1, 1900

On March 20, 2012, Democratic candidates Todd Koger and William Anderson were disqualified after a petition challenge by Gainey. Gainey also challenged incumbent Joseph Preston's petition. A number of Preston's signatures were thrown out (some as forgeries), but enough valid signatures remained for Preston to keep his place on the ballot.
