Rod Monroe (b. August 20, 1942) is a Democratic member of the Oregon State Senate, representing District 24. Monroe was first elected to the chamber in 2006. Monroe is running for re-election in the primary on May 15, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.
Monroe served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 1977–1981. He previously served District 7 in the Oregon State Senate from 1981–1989. He also served as a Board Member for the David Douglas School Board.
Monroe attended Warner Pacific College. He earned his B.S. from Portland State University in 1965 and his M.A. from Portland State University in 1969. His professional experience includes being a history and government teacher for Tigard High School.
