Biden Catches A Break After Notre Dame WITHDRAWS from Hosting Presidential Debates
July 28, 2020
It's no secret by now that the Democratic Party doesn't want to see Joe Biden go Head-to-Head with President Trump in a live debate setting. It is becoming more and more evident that former Vice President Joe Biden does not have the stamina nor the intellectual fortitude to go three rounds with the POTUS. Political debates have been an essential and necessary tradition in American Politics for over a hundred and fifty years.
There isn't a much better way for a Presidential Candidate to showcase his or her policies than in a debate format. But at this point, most of us aren't really sure what exactly Joe Biden's policies look like. Both candidates should be anxious for the opportunity to communicate their ideas to the nation - you would think.
The first of three Presidential Debates was set to take place at the University of Notre Dame. Yesterday, the university announced that they would no longer be hosting the debate, due to Covid-19 concerns.
According to NBC News, "Notre Dame, near South bend, Indiana, said it decided to withdraw because the public health risks of holding a presidential debate during a pandemic outweighed the potential benefits."
The school is the second to withdraw from hosting a presidential debate this year. Late last month, the University of Michigan withdrew from hosting the second presidential debate, scheduled for Oct. 15."
In a post from the University's Official Twitter page, they stated, "Today, Fr. Jenkins announced that Notre Dame has withdrawn as the host site for the first of the 2020 presidential debates, scheduled for Sept. 29"
University President, Reverend John Jenkins went on to say, “this difficult decision because the necessary health precautions would have greatly diminished the educational value of hosting the debate on our campus.”
Let's not forget that New York Times columnist Tom Friedman already made the ridiculous proposition that Joe Biden should not go on stage against the POTUS unless President Trump reveals his personal tax-returns for the last several years. Friedman also posed the idea of having live "fact-checkers" in the front row during these debates - an absurd proposition that the left-wing media ran with.

At any rate, Adam Edelman of NBC News said, "The debate, scheduled for Sept. 29, will instead be co-hosted by Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland Clinic, and will be held at the university's Health Education Campus in Cleveland, the commission said."
Nonetheless, Republicans and the GOP remain anxious for these debates between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Democrats on the other hand, along with liberal establishments, seem to be doing everything in their power to avoid putting their fragile candidate on the big stage against President Trump.
This cancellation by the University of Notre Dame is just another road block to keep these two presidential candidates from going toe-to-toe. Who do you think will come out on top in these debates?
