Budget, Spending, & Tax

Budget Stabilization:

Indicate which proposals you support (if any) for balancing Washington's budget.

1. Reducing state employee salaries AND/OR pensions?
- No Answer

2. Instituting mandatory furloughs AND/OR layoffs for state employees?
- No Answer

3. Reducing benefits for Medicaid recipients?
- No Answer

4. Other or expanded principles
- I support responsible spending. Spend less tax less, by promoting efficiency in government and by limiting government to only those functions that are traditionally and best served by government.

Campaign Finance & Government Reform

1. Do you support any limits on campaign contributions to state candidates?
- Yes

2. Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
- Yes

3. Do you support the use of an independent AND/OR bipartisan commission for redistricting?
- No Answer

4. Do you support requiring a government-issued photo identification in order to vote at the polls?
- Yes

5. Other or expanded principles
- Over the past 7 months I have learned that campaign financing can be a major problem. Lobbyists and PACs can control election results and prevent candidates from getting their message out.

Crime & Public Safety

1. Do you support capital punishment for certain crimes?
- Yes

2. Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
- No Answer

3. Should a minor accused of a violent crime be prosecuted as an adult?
- Yes

4. Do you support the enforcement of federal immigration laws by state and local police?
- Yes

5. Other or expanded principles
- A free and open society is based on laws. If we fail to enforce the law, or we fail to have equal protection of the law we fail as a free society. Failing to respect federal law makes us no different than the secessionist south.

Economic

1. Do you support state government spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
- No

2. Do you support lowering state taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
- Yes

3. Do you support reducing state government regulations on the private sector?
- Yes

4. Do you support expanding access to unemployment benefits?
- No

5. Do you support requiring welfare applicants to pass a drug test in order to receive benefits?
- Yes

6. Do you support an increase of the minimum wage of Washington?
- No

7. Other or expanded principles
- I believe in free markets and private enterprise. Individuals can solve problems much better than government in most cases. We must make government the last resort, not the first.

Education

1. Do you support adopting federal education standards in Washington?
- No

2. Do you support state funding for charter schools?
- Yes

3. Should immigrants unlawfully present in the United States who graduate from Washington high schools be eligible for in-state tuition at public universities?
- No

4. Do you support increasing funding for the state education budget?
- No

5. Other or expanded principles
- Our educational system has many flaws, we need to fix the system, NOT just throw more money at it. Yes it is the state's responsibility to fund education. But, we need to make teacher salaries merit bases not simply a function of time. What productive industry does NOT compensate based on merit?!? We also need to promote school choice. traditional public schools do not work for all students and parents must have the option to select the right educational path for their children.

Environment & Energy

1. Do you support state funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
- No

2. Do you support state government regulations of greenhouse gas emissions?
- No

3. Do you support increasing state funding for clean drinking water initiatives?
- No

4. Other or expanded principles
- I have a carbon program that will remove up to 28,000,000 tons of carbon from industrial output, create job and cost the tax payer nothing. By offering tax incentives to industry they will be able to using carbon collection technology to scrub their emissions and recover their waste carbon. Carbon has a market value and can be sold for profit. Current three emitters are capturing carbon, so this plan will help get the other 140 emitters on board. A carbon tax is ONLY for revenue generation and will NOT help the environment.

- No

2. Should background checks be required on gun sales between private citizens at gun shows?
- No

- No

2. Do you support the inclusion of gender identity in Washington's anti-discrimination laws?
- No

3. Do you support greater efforts by Washington state government in closing the pay gap between men and women?
- No

4. Other or expanded principles
- I believe that government must keep out of people's bedrooms and not look up people's dresses. I respect privacy. I also support equal protection of law. Identity politics just causes more discrimination.

Legislative Priorities

In the following area, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- 1) Responsible spending and accountability. State government doesn't need more money, it needs to curb it's insatiable appetite for spending.2) Reducing crime by enforcing existing laws and then creating pathways to a functional lifestyle (where possible).3) Improving the environment by having responsible policies that do NOT make environmental protect adversarial to the public. We can enjoy our beautiful waterways and park-lands with out burdening the taxpayers.
