Reason for Seeking Public Office:

I am running to put public service back into Indiana politics where it belongs. As an advocate for parents of special needs students, and for health care reform, I got tired of waiting to see my legislators while lobbyists and big donors came and went. Shirley Chisholm said if they don't give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair. I'm running because if they don't give you a seat at the table, take theirs.

Legislative Priorities

In the following area, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- One of my top priorities will be to re-legalize industrial hemp and provide the resources to help small farmers make the transition. Eliminating the tax breaks that give commercial farms undue advantages, and replacing them with tax incentives to the smaller independent farms will revitalize our local economies. Another top priority will be to expand access to health care for all Hoosiers. This will require immediate actions and long range planning. Expand Medicaid and HIP. Rein in the out of control profiteering of pharmaceutical companies. Allow women access to the full range of health care services they need and deserve.
