Reason for Seeking Public Office:

To make New Jersey affordable for ALL to live in, to promote unity and inclusion in a time where politics are unfortunately associated with rancor and division, and to redefine the expectations of members of the community of what their elected representatives could and should be, providing the highest level of constituent service and to ensure that ALL of their voices are heard in our State Government. People have had enough of "NJ politics as usual" and want to see our State moving forward into the future, and they want to be able to afford to live here and be a part of it. I will work tirelessly to make that New Jersey a reality.

Policy Positions

New Jersey Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Abortion

1. Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
- Pro-choice

2. Other or expanded principles
- I am a Conservative Jew and my religious principals are pro-life. However, I do not believe it appropriate to impose my religious views upon anyone else via force of law. As a champion of individual liberty and limited government, I support a woman's right to choose.

Budget

1. In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
- No

2. In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
- No

3. Other or expanded principles
- I will fight against increasing tax burdens on the most-taxed people in the country: New Jersey residents. However, if absolutely necessary, I would support consumption-based taxes over income or property-based taxes.

Campaign Finance

1. Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
- Yes

2. Other or expanded principles
- Big money in politics is a big problem which causes uncompetitive elections which discourage both quality candidates making the decision to run for office and people from voting in general. I will certainly look into regulating "dark money."

Economy

1. Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
- No

2. Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
- Yes

3. Other or expanded principles
- While I am against federal spending generally, I support greatly increased federal spending in New Jersey. Simply put, we are 50 out of 50 states in tax revenue sent to Washington vs. appropriations received back in return. We have been functioning as the "Piggy Bank of America" for many years, financing the rest of the country, and now we're broke. We desperately need greatly enhanced federal appropriations to improve our schools and infrastructure, uplift our poorest and most vulnerable residents, and grow our economy. I will fight every day to make this happen.

Education

1. Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
- No

2. Other or expanded principles
- No Answer

Energy & Environment

1. Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
- Yes

2. Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
- Yes

3. Other or expanded principles
- No Answer

Guns

1. Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
- No

2. Other or expanded principles
- I am a supporter of the 2nd Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens. However, we simply have to do a better job keeping guns out of the hands of people who should not be getting their hands on them. I propose enhanced vetting for gun permits which require permitting agencies to review the past 5 years of social media content of an applicant to see if that person has made specific violent threats that a reasonable permitting authority would conclude that they may intend to carry out with a firearm. Due process of law must be present at all times.

Health Care

1. Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
- No

2. Other or expanded principles
- Unless it is to replace it with an alternative that is more compassionate to the poorest and most vulnerable Americans with respect to fulfilling their healthcare needs, while also making it more affordable for everyone.

Immigration

1. Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
- Yes

2. Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
- No

3. Other or expanded principles
- I support a path to citizenship for DACA recipients and the passage of a clean DREAM Act to give it to them. I also support enhanced border security. In general, I will support common-sense immigration reform that is both compassionate and inclusive to existing and potential immigrants which will enable them to pursue the American Dream, while simultaneously recognizing and protecting the integrity of our borders. If this is not accomplished prior to the start of my first term, I will make this my highest priority.

Marijuana

1. Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
- Yes

2. Other or expanded principles
- It should be removed from Federal CDS lists and each State should decide their own marijuana policies.

National Security

1. Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
- No

2. Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
- No

3. Other or expanded principles
- I believe in "peace through strength" and the use of force only when absolutely necessary.
