James I. Manning Jr. is a Democratic member of the Oregon State Senate, representing District 7. Manning was appointed in December 2016 to replace Chris Edwards, who resigned to take a job at the University of Oregon. Manning is running for re-election in the primary on May 15, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.

Prior to his appointment, Manning ran unsuccessfully for District 14 of the Oregon House of Representatives.
