Dem Senators Want National Mask Mandate Included In Coronavirus Relief Bill
December 5, 2020Democrats won't be satisfied until the entire nation has been made to wear face masks and forced to submit to their draconian demands for more power under the pretense of a public health crisis.
With less than three weeks to go until Christmas, there is still no economic relief bill to ease the suffering of Americans who have been held hostage by Democrats who want to stuff any stimulus bill with unrelated items and giveaways to special interests.

Some Senate Democrats see a great opportunity to use any COVID relief bill as a way to further their forced mask agenda and are insisting that any package should include a national mask mandate.
The drivers behind this legislative terrorism are flaming Massachusetts liberal Ed Markey who is an ardent backer of the socialist Green New Deal and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut who lied about his military service during the Vietnam war.
On Friday, both senators called for the mask mandate to be part of any relief bill which Blumenthal called a "moral imperative" as well as a political one.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) want to see a "mask-wearing mandate" as part of the next coronavirus relief package that Congress passes.
"Our goal is going to be, you know, to work towards including it inside of the coronavirus relief package," Markey said during a news conference on Friday about the Encouraging Masks for All Act. "We think this is kind of common sense."
Congressional leaders and the White House are currently negotiating another coronavirus relief bill.
"Making this mask-wearing mandate a part of that pandemic relief is an imperative; it's a moral imperative," Blumenthal said at the news conference.
"And frankly, a political imperative," he added, "because the solution to this pandemic requires a comprehensive strategy, including mask-wearing, physical distancing, hand-washing, even as we move into a stage in addressing the pandemic that will enable more and more people to have vaccine. But this pandemic relief package is a good down payment. It's a next step, and the mask-wearing mandate should be a part of it."
According to Markey's office, the Encouraging Masks for All Act would "encourage states to require the use of face masks in all public spaces and outside when one cannot maintain social distance."

Markey and Blumenthal introduced their mandatory masking bill last week but faced with likely opposition by Republicans, seem to have decided that it would be easier to just stuff it into the economic relief bill.

Senators Ed Markey and Richard Blumenthal announced on Wednesday that they would introduce legislation in the U.S. Senate calling for a national face mask mandate.
The legislation, called the Encouraging Masks for All Act, "would encourage states to require the use of face masks in all public spaces and outside when one cannot maintain social distance," according to a press release.
It would provide $5 billion to the Public Health and Social Services Emergency Fund, which would be made available to states who implement masking requirements. The act would also authorize $75 million in grants for states that promote universal mask wearing.
The announcement comes ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, over which millions of Americans are expected to travel across the country despite guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advising otherwise.
Additional details according to Forbes:
The bill would set aside $5 billion in federal funding that would then be given to states and local governments in the form of grants.
Money would be withheld from states that do not have a mask mandate in place.
Funding would be contingent upon mandates that require face coverings in public, “including in each place of business,” with some common exceptions, like outdoor spaces where social distancing is of ease, children under the age of two and the eating of food.
The bill is called the ‘‘Encouraging Masks for All Act of 2020
Depending on what happens in Georgia in the Senate runoffs, this freedom-shredding monstrosity is a very serious threat to Americans who have already been beaten and battered by authoritarian Democrats.
