  • Doug has been the recipient of the the Cox Communications and East Valley Partnership's 2002 Excellence in Leadership Award, as well as the Apache Junction News' Citizen of the Year for 2006. His Recognition with the Boy Scouts of America includes Eagle Scout (1973), Mesa District Award of Merit (1985) and the Grand Canyon Council's Silver Beaver Award (2006).

Hobbies or Special Talents:

Doug has many hobbies and other interests. Doug has trained for and run the Lost Dutchman Marathon, Salt Lake Half Marathon, Mesquite Nevada Tri-State Marathon, and the Disney Half Marathon. He earned his HAM radio operating license in 1993 with call sign KI7LP. He also enjoys doing tricks with his yo-yo and is an official Duncan Yo-Yo Champion.
