Douglas J.J. Peters is a Democratic member of the Maryland State Senate, representing District 23. He was first elected to the chamber in 2006. Peters currently serves as state Senate majority leader. Peters is running for re-election in the primary on June 26, 2018. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.
Peters previously served as majority caucus chair.
Peters earned his bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Maryland and his MBA from the University of Baltimore. He served in the United States Army Reserve.
