White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed Wednesday that the U.S. government, including USAID, will no longer be spending "more than $8 million... essentially subsidizing subscriptions to Politico."
"We are going line by line when it comes to the federal government's books," she said.
According to recent reporting, media organizations like Politico, the Associated Press, and the New York Times received millions of dollars from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) over the last few years in subscriptions, payments, and advertising revenue.
