Kansas State Legislative Election 2018 Political Courage Test

    Abortion & Reproductive

    1. Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
    - Pro-choice

    2. Should abortion be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape?
    - Yes

    3. Do you support the prohibition of public funds for organizations that perform abortions?

    - To stop abortion, a more effective solution would be to provide free or low-cost birth control to all. I do not support funding of abortion per se, however, I do support public funding for an organization that also provides needed low-cost helathcare, such as mammograms, exams, etc.

    Legislative Priorities

In the following area, please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
    - Education is my number one focus, followed by investment in infrastructure, then local control. Additional funding for education is available through a balanced tax plan and can be achieved today without additional taxation. Spending must be justified and reasonable at all agencies. The days of building a budget based on the prior year's spending has to end. We must also find a more equitable way to fund highways and roads as electric cars pay no fuel tax, thus pretty much getting a free ride.
