Policy Positions

Wisconsin Congressional Election 2018 Political Courage Test

Abortion

1. Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
- Pro-choice

2. Other or expanded principles
- I believe that the correct way to please both sides of the aisle would be to address poverty. If poverty was adequately addressed abortion rates would plummet astronomically.

Budget

1. In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
- Yes

2. In order to balance the budget, do you support reducing defense spending?
- No

3. Other or expanded principles
- I support raising the taxes on the top brackets.

Campaign Finance

1. Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
- Yes

2. Other or expanded principles
- I support full repeal of Citizens United and haven't taken a single dollar from a single special interest on either side of the aisle and never will.

Economy

1. Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
- Yes

2. Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
- No

3. Other or expanded principles
- Trickle down economics doesn't work. One of my platform ideas is to end tax breaks for giant corporations and shift that money to small and medium sized business.

Education

1. Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
- Yes

2. Other or expanded principles
- If the standards are based on something other than just testing. I do believe we need some standards and that those also need to apply to private charter schools that receive government funding but am vehemently against No Child Left Behind.

Energy & Environment

1. Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, thermal)?
- Yes

2. Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
- Yes

3. Other or expanded principles
- US is way behind other countries (particularly UAE) in alternative energy. We need to get ahead!

Guns

1. Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
- No

2. Other or expanded principles
- I support private background checks on public sales, a better background check system, and restricting extended clips and bump stocks. I believe we should focus on what both sides agree on and save the rest for later when we are more stable.

Health Care

1. Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
- No

2. Other or expanded principles
- I think the ACA failed because we gave a massive hand out to the people who created the problem and expected them to fix it. If I burned down your house then told you to pay me to rebuild it what sense would that make? However it did make monumental leaps in ending pre existing conditions, lifetime maximums, and allowing children on parents policies until 26. I support capping profits of medical companies and insurance.

Immigration

1. Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
- No

2. Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
- No

3. Other or expanded principles
- I think we need a system where people are allowed to stay until they attain citizenship but that citizenship is based off what they contribute to society not tens of thousands of dollars and a meaningless test after years of waiting.

Marijuana

1. Do you support the legalization of marijuana for recreational purposes?
- Yes

2. Other or expanded principles
- I fully support full legalization and taxation of Cannabis (the correct term as historically the term marijuana was only created as a racist term).

National Security

1. Should the United States use military force in order to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a nuclear weapon?
- No

2. Do you support increased American intervention in Middle Eastern conflicts beyond air support?
- No

3. Other or expanded principles
- Military force should be a last resort. I only support the use of force when all other options have failed and the threat is clear and legitimate.

Administrative Priorities

Please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
- My first priority is legalization of Cannabis. This would bring in billions upon billions of dollars in extra tax revenue and even more billions in prison savings. Then ending Citizens United. This is a must. We must not allow special interests to have a much larger voice than constituents. After that I want to end all tax breaks for giant corporations and switch that money to small and medium sized businesses. Those are my top three platform ideas.
